BIOGRAPHY
Known for his sardonic wit, Ezekiel Wong Kel Win’s practice explores the ways meaning, identity and social values are shaped, performed and contested. Through satire, wordplay and the reworking of familiar images and symbols, his works examine the codes that govern everyday life, from personal and subcultural identities to broader systems of power and national narratives. Moving between graphic and text-based works, large-scale paintings, animation, sculpture, installation and public projects, Wong brings together humour and critical observation to reveal the absurdities, contradictions and uncertainties of contemporary experience.
Wong received the Gold Award in the Established Artist Category, Singapore, at the 45th UOB Painting of the Year (2026). He has exhibited in Singapore and internationally, including *CLEANSE: Asia Pacific Now* (Prestige Gallery, 2026), *The Strange Archive* (Singapore Art Week, 2026), *Sama-Sama* (Whitestone Gallery Singapore, 2025), *Many Worlds at a Glance, Many Worlds All at Once* (Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore, 2024), *Commoners* (Esplanade, 2017), *Liminal State* (Mizuma Gallery, 2016) and *At Source* (ION Art Gallery, 2015). His works are held in institutional and private collections, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore, and the UOB Art Collection.
His public projects include *Opera in Motion: A Dynamic Tribute to Chinese Opera* for the Singapore Night Festival (2024) and *Art in Motion: The Merlion Dance* for Light to Night Festival (2021). Wong holds a Master of Education (Art) from Nanyang Technological University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fine Arts from Goldsmiths, University of London, through LASALLE College of the Arts.

2023 Meet the Xolo, invited artist; designed the surface of a blank Xolo form for Manila Galleon: From Asia to the Americas, Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore.
2021 Art in Motion: The Merlion Dance, Light to Night Festival, National Gallery Singapore and SMRT Trainlines (North-South and East-West Lines), Singapore; commissioned site-specific artwork.
2016 M66: Of Different Stripes, Onitsuka Tiger Stripes 50th Anniversary: All White Kicks Collab, Pedder on Scotts, Singapore; featured artist commissioned to structurally re-envision the Mexico 66 silhouette.
